Fx is going to Germany for IEM IV Finals!

Written by nqr, 25/02/2010 21:18

The defending world champions, and current representatives of Frag eXecutors, will travel to the World Finals of the fourth season of Intel Extreme Masters which will take place at the beginning of March! This is all thanks to the Taiwanese team UMX backing out from the tournament.

This is the information we received a few hours ago from the official web page of the tournament. This means that the best Polish Counter-Strike team, which during the ESL Extreme Masters IV European Championship Finals placed ninth after a win over Team Alternate, will go to Hannover, Germany on March 2nd. We have to thank the finalists from Taiwan who because of financial reasons were not able to make the trip to this event. A few other Asian teams were given the opportunity to go, however none of them were able to make the far trip. Next in line to receive the opportunity to attend were our players, who could not turn such an offer down.

Because of this, our players have been put into Group A which is thought to be the group of death since in this group we see such teams as: fnatic, mTw, mousesports, oXmoze, as well as Evil Geniuses. The Intel Extreme Masters IV Finals will start March 2nd and will last five days.

It is worth adding that Neo and Co. during the European Finals for IEM earned a "reserve team" spot, so their spot in Germany was under a huge question mark. The chances of this invite coming in were extremely small.
